Ian Robertson, the author of the above play, has successfully published his second book, ‘The Pantomime valley’.

The 52 year old author is a native of the Welsh valleys living in the local area feeds his creativity and obsession with its culture and people. The book puts small town valleys life under the microscope and paints vivid portraits of the human condition in 1950 and 60s Wales. The work although based in reality, brings a sense of fun, as well as moments of drama.

Ian became established as a writer after the publication of his first novel, ‘The Land of Nod’ in 2003. Ian’s love of welsh valleys people and culture is the hallmark of his work but far from being idealised, it is gritty and challenging with a surreal quality. He is a prolific and focused writer who is building on the success of his first novel with this collective work of short stories and plays which explore themes of religion, popular culture and bullying in small Welsh communities.

‘The pantomime valley’ is available now on Amazon in paperback and kindle formats.
